Cantilever vibration in an optical lever AFM is theoretically analyzed considering the effect of surface force and ambient fluid. The between tip sample modeled using a cantilever with spring damping added to tip, fluid on bead model. amplitude ratios forced were derived by solving equation motion. There are discrepancies ratio from bending theory that obtained through method. reveals dominates primarily below second resonant frequency. tip-added affects frequency shift ratio, while mainly at In contrast, method anti-resonance occurs when constant positive, which not observed theory. modified introducing correction factor. factor decreases excitation except for where occurs. becomes small has high density viscosity.
